Comment Wisely

I am a horrible, negligent, sucky blogger. In my defense, however, I have not abandoned writing altogether. I have decided, at the ripe old age of too-damn-old that I am going to finally try my hand at fiction. I’ve been wanting to write fiction for…well, ever. But there is something innately intimidating about making something up in your own little head and putting it out there for public consumption. That said, I am a grown woman and if I am ever going to grow a set, it might as well be now. Right?

So, I apologize profusely for my recent lack of amusing anecdotes concerning my adorably puckish children. I promise to make it up to you all. In the meantime, if you find yourself in the mood for less realistic drama, please feel free to click on the FANCY and BEA BLEEKER buttons on the top of this page. Bea Bleeker is the first chapter of my novel I have been working on writing. I am about 38,000 words in and have hit a wall. So I decided to take a break and write a short story for an anthology contest I entered just for shits and giggles. That story is Fancy, and it is posted in its entirety on this blog.

So feel free to comment on what a lackluster fiction writer I am. You may just inspire me to go back to blogging full time. Of course, then you would have to endure more stories about my children.

So I leave you with this advice: Comment wisely. :)

UPDATE: I removed Fancy from my website because I did enter it into a contest, so it can't be published anywhere...even on my own blog. At least until the contest is over. That said, let me know if you want to read it. I can always send it to you.

Real quick, you need to check the the rules of the contest. Often you can't submit something that has been "published", which usually includes things on blogs! I would hate for you to miss out on a technicality.

Next, I was going to comment that I can not support this new writing career if it makes your blog suffer so much. :) Hope you bust through that wall soon! Can't wait to read more.
